Other Thermal FluidsThere are many different heat transfer fluids available. It is important to specify an inhibited glycol-based heat transfer fluid because, without inhibitors, glycol fluids can be more corrosive than water. Corrosion is a major contributor to maintenance and operating expense in water-based HVAC, food, and process systems. Other Inhibitors vs Inhibited glycolsGlycols mixed with an unspecified corrosion inhibitor and water may not adequately protect your coolant circulating system. Because the degree of protection provided by these coolants is unknown, it is difficult to monitor and replenish inhibitor potency.
